Mitesh Patel, MD

Mitesh was born and raised here in sunny Florida. Before he had aspirations of becoming a physician, Mitesh spent his time playing tennis for his local high school’s Varsity Tennis team and playing video games with his twin brother. He later attended the University of Florida and obtained his degree in Microbiology and Cell Science. During this time his passion for Neurology developed and he became involved with research with dealing with the differentiation and enrichment of neural stem cells. He then decided to pursue further education and attended medical school at Florida State University. As he learned about the different fields of medicine during his training, he was immediately drawn towards Neurology due to its intellectually satisfying nature and the opportunity to develop long lasting relationships with patients. During his spare time, Mitesh loves to adventure around the world – he has been to over 15 different countries and has gone skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting, sledging, and sand boarding. Despite his inclination for the abroad, he enjoys his time in Gainesville and its abundant offering of hiking trails and natural springs. Mitesh is thrilled to be surrounded with supportive staff and colleagues and looks forward to continuing his career here with the UF Neurology Residency program!
